Michael Yaw Adom, professionally known as MAQASHTHEHUSTLER, is a Ghanaian artist, DJ, creative entrepreneur, cultural advocate whose work sits at the intersection of culture, entertainment, and agriculture.
Hailing from Kete Krachi in Ghana’s Oti Region, Yaw Adom identity and creative journey have been shaped by his experiences growing up across Chinderi, Bolgatanga, Tamale, and Accra. His connection to African spirituality, traditional values, culture, and contemporary urban life continues to influence his artistic expression and entrepreneurial vision.
Yaw Adom received his education at Mount Sinai Educational Center, Ghana Secondary School(Tamale)and Bolgatanga Technical University, where he developed an academic background in Procurement, Supply Chain and Logistics Management, earning an Associate Degree. He combines this business and logistics background with his creative experience to develop brands, businesses, and cultural projects.
THE ARTIST & CULTURAL CREATIVE
Yaw Adom began establishing himself within Ghana’s creative industry as an artist, DJ, MC, and cultural curator. In 2015, he released his debut studio album, Today’s Picture of Tomorrow’s Reality, under his independent record label, Unapologetic Records / AfrikaWeGoHard. The project marked an important chapter in his development as an independent artist and helped establish his voice within Ghana’s Hip-Life and urban music culture.
As the curator and founder of Rhythmic Afrikan Poetry, Michael has continued to explore the relationship between music, poetry, African identity, history, culture, and contemporary expression. His work seeks to celebrate African creativity while creating platforms that connect music, culture, tourism, and entrepreneurship.
His career has also included significant experiences within Accra’s nightlife and entertainment scene. In 2015, he became a resident DJ at Jamrock Restaurant and Lounge, a Jamaican cuisine establishment in Accra. During the same period, he also worked as an MC at Briefcase, a popular pub in East Legon, a co-host on Xfm.
These experiences helped shape his reputation as a versatile entertainer capable of combining music selection, performance, cultural storytelling, and audience engagement.
THE ENTREPRENEUR
Beyond music, Michael is the Founder of the GET-VIM Brand and the Owner of Makqash Ventures, a diversified enterprise with interests in entertainment, agriculture, media, branding, consultancy, and cultural development.
His entrepreneurial philosophy is built around creativity, independence, wealth creation, and building sustainable ventures that reflect African identity and contemporary lifestyles.
Yaw Adom’s interests in agriculture further extend his vision beyond entertainment. Through his agricultural ventures, he is working toward creating opportunities within Ghana’s agricultural sector while connecting entrepreneurship with land, food production, and economic development.

A strong advocate for African culture, Michael’s work extends beyond music. He is passionate about African history, traditions, arts, language, fashion, food, music, tourism, and contemporary street culture.
His creative work aligns with broader efforts to strengthen Ghana’s position as a cultural destination and reconnect the African diaspora with the continent. He has been particularly inspired by initiatives such as Ghana’s historic Year of Return, which brought global attention to Ghana and encouraged people of African descent to reconnect with the Motherland.

He views creativity and entrepreneurship as tools for building wealth, creating opportunities, and establishing a lasting legacy. He is also a father and a brother to Thelma and Audrey Adom.
